Hyatt Hill Country

This past week and weekend I took the kids to San Antonio. I was hosting a baby shower on Saturday and had planned on all of us going and spending a few days relaxing down there. Because Stuart recently started a new job and we had just returned from a week in Vegas he stayed home. The kids and I had a blast! The Hyatt Hill Country Resort is a wonderful place for young children and I truly treasured the time spent with Hannah and Hudson.
We arrived late Wednesday night, settled into our room and went to bed. Thursday morning we were up early to beat the heat. We headed downtown to the zoo. Hannah loved it! (I took a couple of pictures but got over zealous in deleting Vegas and older pictures that I accidentally deleted our zoo pics!). Hannah loved the monkeys, elephants, tigers, rhinos, hippos, alligators, and crocs but her favorite thing was the turtles!
After the zoo we headed back towards the hotel and stopped off at Target to fill our room fridge with waters, diet cokes, milk, and juice. Once we got back to the hotel we changed into our swimsuits, sun screened up and headed towards to pool. The pool was great! They have a lazy river and a beach area with sand and beach entrance into the pool. I bought the kids floats that had strings attached, attached them to a tube, and we floated the lazy river, stopping at the lazy river bar for pina coladas and smoothies!
After a late afternoon nap for the kids and a shower for me we went to see the ponies! Hannah loved the ponies and even rode Dusty the small one! Once I dragged her away from the ponies we grabbed a bite at the pool bar and went to watch the armadillo races! Yuck! After a horse drawn wagon ride and smores, we headed to the play ground where Hannah spent the rest of the evening sliding and meeting friends.
Friday we slept in and then spent the majority of the day at the pool, playing on the beach, floating the river, eating snowcones, and pina coladas. Mid afternoon Hannah participated in the Gummy Bear Hunt. They hide gummy bears (actually worms) in pudding and without using your hands you have to find the gummy bears with your mouth. Hudson tried to get in on the pudding action too. After another late afternoon nap, baths and showers, we went to see the ponies again. Hannah had been talking about them all day! We did a little photo shooting, and had dinner inside. After dinner we made smores and got ice cream before settling on the lawn for Toy Story. We sat on blankets, ate our ice cream and popcorn, wore our light up glasses and watched some of the movie until we went to slide for the rest of the night.
Saturday morning we got up, packed our stuff up, and headed to Lisa's baby shower! (Another post for that!) After the shower we headed West on I-10 home to Daddy to celebrate Fathers Day!
