Put on your big girl panties!

That's right folks! Hannah is (FINALLY) officially POTTY TRAINED!!!! We started this potty business in November and after she went potty on the potty for the first time, I got so excited, screaming and calling everyone that I must have scared her to death because for the last 9 months she has been terrified to actually go on the potty. We hadn't pushed it too hard, would try to get her to do, held her down on the potty at times hoping she would get over the fear if she did it, bought several different types of potty, put her in panties, etc. Nothing worked. But she was ready, she didn't like wet or poopy diapers and told us she needed a diaper change before she would go each time. I had lunch with some friends twice last week who were talking about potty training their kids this weekend. If those three kids were potty trained, plus all the other kids in her class, Hannah was going to be the last one potty trained out of all of her little friends, boys and girls. So, Friday night, we threw away the diapers! That was it, we were going all in. Friday night was a bust. She wouldn't go and finally fell asleep on our floor in panties only to have an accident. Saturday we cleaned up, put on big girl panties, and sent Daddy out to buy lots of new panties. Daddy came home with Minnie Mouse, Dora, and Princess panties! She had to go bad, so we kind of hung out near the bathroom and when she started having an accident I picked her up, hung her kicking screaming bottom over the toilet and let her go through her panties into the potty. Then I made a huge deal about how she tee-teed in the potty! Break Through!!! So to congratulate her, Daddy took her to get ice cream. At the ice cream place she needed to go wash her hands. She started to have an accident there and Stuart picked her up and hung her over the potty again. And from that moment on, we have only worn panties! No accidents! We have tee-teed in several public places and has gone in the big potty at home every time. Its magic! We wear panties to sleep too and while it is making nap time a little more difficult, we get in and out and in and out claiming we need to tee tee, she has not had an accident! She loves all of her big girl panties, loves the treats, stickers, and praise she gets and is just such a big girl! I am so proud of her and happy that my child isn't the only child in town not potty trained!

YAY Hannah!!!!! And yay mom and dad! So exciting! She needs to teach Cooper not to be afraid of public restrooms! That is definitely a struggle for us!
