Washington, DC - Junior League

I had a wonderful opportunity to attend the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc.'s 91st Annual Conference in Washington DC this past week. This is my 6th Conference since being slated as President of the Junior League of Midland. I have been to Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, Chicago, Las Vegas, and now DC. The current President will "pass the gavel" on Tuesday and I will officially be President after a year and half of training. These conferences have been a great opportunity to learn, train, and make friends. We had a great time and I am looking forward this year as President!

Some of the West Texas Outgoing Presidents, Incoming Presidents, and Incoming President-Elects took a night monument tour. The DC Insider walking tour was a 3 hour 3 mile walking tour. It was impressive.

Sarah and I at the Mary Harriman (Founder of the Junior League) Award Luncheon. The recipient of this years Mary Harriman Award was Sen. Florence Shapiro who I had the opportunity to meet along with her Mother who happens to be friends of my Grandmother. It is a small world!

We only had a little bit of free time and spent Friday evening touring the monuments in the daylight!

My West Texas Friends. I am so fortunate to have made this group of friends. These girls will be Presidents of their Leagues in 2013 and 2014. We share a pretty special bond and I always love seeing them! This is likely the last time we will all be together.
