Welcome Home "W"

Midland welcomed home George and Laura this afternoon and what a welcome it was! Midland is so proud of The Bush's and welcomed him home in style downtown. The Bush family, including Big George and Barbara, Jenna Welch (Laura's Mother), Barbara, George and Laura, along with several other Midlanders, former Secretary of Commerce Don Evans and his wife, Susie, and our Congressman Mike Conaway and his wife Suzanne, all hopped aboard Air Force One after the inauguration and headed straight home to Texas...Midland, Texas.

My dad was invited to sit in the bleachers on stage and he invited me to come with him. I am so appreciative of the opportunity to look out and see over 30,000 Bush supporters welcoming Bush home. The crowd response and W's throughout all of Centennial plaza is something that I will never forget.

Watching Air Force One fly over downtown was an amazing site and one that I will probably never see again. The energy in Midland was memorable and when Mr. Lee Greenwood sang, "I am proud to be an American" I not only thanked God for letting me be able to experience this, but thanked God for letting me be a proud American. I did not bring my good camera, but was still able to capture some great pictures of our wonderful President!

Awesome pictures.. in fact I "borrowed" them for my blog! I bet the feeling was amazing... His speech was perfect, I am very proud of him and know the future will give him more respect. Thanks for the pictures!
