Visitor Day at Dance and more jibber jabber

We were invited to come watch Hannah's dance class on Monday. This was the first time I had seen her as it is closed off to parents. I choose this because if I were present, Hannah would not participate. It works out well. Thank goodness this was not another "MDO open house" experience. I feared it would be so didn't invite the grandparents or anyone else. Although there was not hysterical crying, she didn't exactly participate. She wondered around with her hand in her mouth, acted like she had never been there or done this before, and was the only child who wasn't eager to impress their parents. Now, Hannah is the youngest in her class and she is almost on the end of the line in their recital dance. After observing, I see why. Her teachers assured me that she knows the dances and participates when we are not there. She loves dance but I am not sure exactly how talented she is. I was never in kid in the middle either. Always on the end or in the back! hehehe! However, she is the cutest kid in class with the biggest bow!

They do tap, ballet, the bar, and then tumbling. This is where my girl shines! She did front rolls all over the mat! And did them over and over and over. Even when everyone was finished and Ms. Dani was talking to parents. We were only slightly distracting until Hudson got out there to the mat too. We are going to stick with dance though. Hannah really enjoys it and I am really hoping she "performs" at the recital so I can see her dance. I think I will put both of them in gymnastics this summer.

Tuesday morning was MDO Registration. I am only bringing this up because I have alluded to it every year on my blog. Year one, Hannah was 6 weeks old and I was camped out at church at 5:30am. The last two years, even registering as "in house" I was there by 6:00am. This year I am on the Early Childhood Ministry Committee. I was able to get there at 9:00, put my registration in the basket and then collect all those others packets from those Mommies who had been there since 6. This board and my position on this board is a big job and I have leave work early one a month for meetings but boy was it nice to sleep in, not fret, not worry about the weather, and know my babies are registered for next year.

SNOW SNOW SNOW! It has been FREEZING and snowing, and icy, and freezing since Tuesday. Monday was in the 70's, we went into dance and came out to 40 degree temperature drop. By Tuesday temperatures were down to 16 degrees and have stayed below that the rest of the week. We had power outages, school cancellations, meeting cancellations, and cabin fever!!! I cannot remember a time in my life that is has been this cold for this long in Midland. Sure, it snows every year but this is brutal cold snow! Today I had to get out and noticed there are no snowmen out! It is just too cold for kids to go out there and play in it.

Of course my kids haven't been out there. But, they do both have ear infections! Hannah's is bad and hers hasn't cleared up since last time. Hud's other ear is now infected. Both kids are now on another different antibiotic. Ughhh!

hope Hudson is feeling better! Hannah is cute in her dance outfit! At parker's school, we have a "draw a number system" so there is no waiting in line. maybe you can suggest it since you are on the committee to come up with a more effective way for all busy mommies. :)
