Too much blogging?

As I have become a "blogger", I have become obsessed with reading other peoples blogs and literally stalk my friends and their friend's blogs! Two things I learned this weekend as I met my girlfriends for a weekend in Houston.

1) If you blog about everything, then when you meet up once a year for a girls weekend, then they already know everything that is going on in your life and you can skip all that and gossip about the important stuff!

2) Google Reader - allows you to link to all of your blogs and frequently looked at sites, lets you know when they are updated, and looks like your Google home page to trick your bosses into thinking you are working instead of blog stalking.

Okay, back to the weekend.... My freshman roommates and I get together every summer for a girls weekend. Always so much fun! We mainly sit around catching up with some shopping and snacking usually thrown in.

Let me digress to what I ate this weekend!

1) petitfores (sp?)

2) cake balls (Allison will be blogging about how to make cake balls in the near future)

3) The wreath (Seriously, it will be blogged about!)

4) Spinach Dip from Barnaby's and at Robin's)

5) The classics (M&M's and Sour Patch Kids)

6) Fajitas

7) A Margarita

8) Pizza

9) Watermelon

10) A salad from Barnaby's with fries

11) A cupcake

Just in case you were curious!

Basically this weekend we talked, ate, and shopped and had a blast! Next year will be our 10th year of friendship and we are planning something BIG! I love these girls and I love being able to spend the weekend with them at least once a year. It is refreshing and brings me back to the good times we had as freshman living at Callaway.

While I was gone... Stuart kept Hannah (he is really getting good at this!) Kristan came over to help out on Saturday and Mimi came by on Saturday night to hang out. I sure missed Hannah while I was away but enjoyed (and needed) the time to myself!

I had a really great weekend with some truly special friends! How was your weekend? (I will be checking your blogs ;) )

Under the weather

It started yesterday at work, the sneezing, the itchy throat, a runny nose, then by 2:30am I was in full blown "I can't breathe" mode. Because I am nursing and trying to preserve what little milk I still have flowing, there is little I can take to relieve the congestion that has taken over me. I stayed awake from 2:30 on blowing, sniffing, using Afrin, to finally opting for a Benedryl that did nothing. Because I work with kiddos and feel like one myself when I am sick (really both of my doctors offices are closed on Wednesdays) I headed up to the clinic to have Teri look at me. Although we both suspect this is viral, due to the miserable state I was in, I opted for the Rocephin injection. Now, I prescribe this everyday just about. Great for sick looking kids, kids who don't take medicine well, kids who are vomiting, and kids with unresolving ear infections. Man! That hurt like heck!!!! My leg still aches. However, I am hoping for the best and that maybe this isn't viral and rather bacterial and I will feel so much better tomorrow. I also reluctantly took Sudafed which has REALLY helped and will hopefully not diminish my milk supply.

2 things I had to miss out on because I am sick:
A play date with some of Hannah's friends (my friends and their kids!)
Seeing Baby Cooper tonight

Reasons I opted for a shot:
I cannot breathe out of my mouth! If my nose is stopped up, I am just miserable!
I am supposed to work tomorrow and Friday morning and who wants their kids to see a sick NP?
I want to get rid of the snotty germs before Hannah gets sick.
And finally, because I am sooooo freakin' excited about my girls trip this weekend that I don't want to feel the least bit under the weather!

Our Weekend

Stuart and I had a nice relaxing weekend this weekend. A nice change from the past few weeks of running myself thin. Saturday we woke up and took Hannah swimming for about 30 minutes. Then, Stuart mowed our grass (which is looking really nice and green!) and I went to my Dad's house then the mall and bought some new sandals on sale. I got home and Stuart and I went to the furniture store and bought a new rug. Since we have so much tile in our house, I felt that we need a large rug for our living room for Hannah to crawl on (and when she falls over, not bonk her head so hard like with the cow hide). We also went to Dillard's and bought Stuart some new sandals and a couple of other things. We went out to dinner at Outback, just the 3 of us, and then brought my Dad some dinner and visited with him. Today, we drove around and went to some open houses (we aren't looking for a new home, we were just browsing). We spent the afternoon doing that and then headed home so I could get a MASSAGE! Massage Envy opened today near our house. Stuart went by this morning and bought me a massage and scheduled it for this afternoon. Boy was that nice! A wonderful massage :) So relaxing! Tonight my Dad took us to dinner and it was great to get him out of the house/office for dinner. It was a nice relaxing weekend with a busy week ahead. Hope you all had a nice weekend too! Hopefully I will have some new pics to post soon!

Hannah meeting Aubrey for the first time
Beautiful Baby Aubrey

Looking at Baby Aubrey in the nursery!

Hannah wore a new pretty dress to meet her new best friend Aubrey.

Hannah's newest friend Aubrey Rose arrived today. 3 days late, but she is here! We were anxiously awaiting her arrival and Sara did a great job! Austen and Stuart have been best friends since the 6th grade when Stuart moved to Midland. We consider "A" a part of our family and both the Yeager and Campbell families have been close for years. Austen was Best Man in our wedding, and Stuart in his. Austen also comes to ALL of our family things. Austen and Sara were there for the birth of Hannah, and fittingly, we wanted to be there for the birth of their first child. Austen's brother, Holten got married last night, Saturday. This kind of created a scheduling problem as Aubrey was due to arrive on the 10th and had not yet made her debut. After Sara's doctor appointment on Friday, they found out that Sara would be induced Saturday night at 11:00pm. Austen and Stuart left at 3:00pm on Friday night and headed to Austin, Texas for Holten's wedding. The wedding started at 7:00pm and at 7:35pm, Stuart and Austen were in the car heading back to town. They made it back right about 1:00am. Fortunately, nothing had happened yet and Austen made it safely back in time to be there with Sara today as she gave birth to beautiful, healthy Aubrey!

Congratulations Campbells! We are so excited that Baby Aubrey is finally here!
(On a side note, Congratulations to The Cash Family and The Gray Family on their newest additions that arrived last week and Good Luck to The Johnston's and The Olivas Family who are expecting their babies this week! We cannot wait to meet all of you!)

Some older pictures

Since I have been a little bit busy and preoccupied, I have not posted new pictures in a while. I know I still need to post some from our photo shoot with Erin that were not in the slide show but I will get to that later. In the mean time, here is a quick recap!

Hannah's first play date with her best friend Thayne. Hannah really likes Thayne, it is so cute. They like to pull each other's hair and talk (squeal) at each other. Terri (Thayne's Mommy) and I are going to have to work on scheduling play group around every ones nap times!

I wanted to take a couple of pictures of Hannah on her First Fourth of July. Hannah is sitting up very well and has really changed in the past 6 months! Now that Hannah is sitting, we are able to sit in highchairs at restaurants and inside the shopping cart. Mommy can almost no longer carry that car seat carrier!

My Mom's best friend from growing up and college and her husband who is one of my Dad's college friends gave Hannah this musical toy when she was born. Hannah really loves to play with it and it gets me a few minutes of time away from her without her noticing.

Sorry that this picture is side-ways. I couldn't get it to turn around. But this is Hannah on Stuart's Birthday before going out to dinner. I was trying to go for a ponytail!

I don't like Peas!

Just like her mommy, Hannah does not like green beans or peas. I started her on fruit and she LOVES it and now will not eat vegetables any more. So far, bananas are our favorite!

Hannah is 6 months old!

Sometime during the blur of the last 2 weeks Hannah celebrated her first half birthday! Yes, we normally celebrate half birthdays in my family. Because of everything else going on, we were not able to celebrate, but Hannah turning 6 months old, did not go un-noticed. Hannah is thriving as a 6 month old! She is sitting up on her own, grabbing everything in sight, taking solids, and even getting up on all fours. (Mommy is not quite ready for her to start crawling yet.) Hannah is also exhibiting separation anxiety and does not like it when you leave her alone. We had an interruption in our food introduction schedule, but we are getting back on track. So far, Hannah will not eat any green vegetables. She will eat carrots, sweet potatoes, apples, and these Gerber Graduate snacks. She is quite the eater. Apples and the Gerber snacks are her favorites. Like her mommy, she wants nothing to do with peas or green beans. Due to the stress and my milk not letting down, I am having to supplement with formula. I am still trying to nurse as often as I can but its not quite enough. I was really hoping to solely nurse until she started whole milk but I am not sure with the stress that I am under that I will be able to continue. On Monday, I took Hannah to her well check and she got to see Miss Teri (Miss Teri is kind of like my mentor/role model). Everything is great and she weighs 17 pounds 8 ounces and is 25 and 3/4 inches long. She is in the 90th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.

I am going to back track a little bit right now since I was not able to blog about my trip to Vegas. After studying so hard and then taking (and passing) my certification exam, I left for Vegas for the weekend sans Hannah and Stuart. It was my first time away from Hannah. Daddy did an excellent job taking care of her but I missed her like crazy. This trip had been planned for a long time (years!) and we were finally able to go. My dad, mom, sister, and I met my aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins out in Vegas for the weekend. Now, looking back on the trip it was such a blessing that we were able to spend the weekend as a family and Susie was able to spend the weekend with mom. (For those of you who don't know, Susie lives in New York). We had a wonderful weekend and those memories I will cherish forever. We saw Jersey Boys (a must see!) and "O" and we ate, shopped, and spent time with our cousins. My mom told my dad that it was a "trip of a lifetime!"

The past week and a half have been the most difficult time of my life. We are grieving and hurting deeply over this tragedy. I have this ache in my heart that will not go away. Part of me just keeps thinking that this is impossible and I wonder how on earth something like this could happen. I have also been amazed by the out-pouring of support we have received, phone calls from old friends, cards, letters, flowers, meals, and prayers. It was also wonderful to see some of my oldest and dearest friends who flew into Midland last week to be with me. Friends like Meryl, Maggie, Robin, and Allison (and those of you who wished you could of been here but could not), I am truly thankful to have you in my life and I really love you guys! I am in awe over how many people have reached out to us and how many lives my mom had touched. Although our lives have to go on, there is a long hard road ahead of us as we deal with this tremendous void in our lives.

Tomorrow is Hannah's first Fourth of July, and our first holiday without Mom. Over the next two weeks several of our friends will be giving birth and we cannot wait to meet Hannah's new friends. I will try and take some new pictures of Hannah and post them soon. Until then, please have a SAFE holiday weekend.
