Daddy and Hudson

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas Eve at Mimi and Pops! We went to the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service and brought Hannah into the service. She was such a big girl. She was quiet, moved from me to Mimi, to Pops, and to Daddy quietly, did not play or talk loudly with Lillian, sang along with the beautiful carols and held the burning candle all by herself during the entire "Silent Night." After church, we headed to Mimi and Pops house for Mexican food and presents!

Hud loved Mimi's tree and her ornaments

We all helped Hudson open his presents... Hud got a new cowboy shirt and both kids got boots!
Hannah helped everyone else open theirs

Then we can home, set out our plate of milk and homemade chocolate chip cookies and went to bed hoping Santa would come.
I must say that I am slightly surprised given some of Hannah's recent behavior that Santa came... She had been on the "Naughty List" quite a bit! I guess he decided to look at her over all behavior for the year and was awfully generous.

We slept until 11am... And finally woke up to see if Santa had come!

Hud loves his new tractor!

Great Bubbe got them these new house shoes!
Santa even put together a Trampoline in our back yard on Christmas Eve! Hannah hasn't come inside. She loves her new "jump!"
She also got a whole trunk full of dress up clothes!

Granddad gave us a dancing Mickey!

T'was the Week Before Christmas

T'was the week before Christmas and it was 85 degrees! (At least it was Monday and Tuesday!)
So we played outside and went to the Duck Pond!

Sunday evening we went to Round the Table Carol Sing! This was so much fun! We ate, sang, danced, and saw Santa!

The Twelve Days of Christmas is the Favorite! Our table was actually 12 drummers drumming but Hannah wanted to be a 5 Golden Ring, so she stood up during the 5 Golden Rings part!

She danced with her friends!

Brought a book to Santa to give to St. Andrews

Here comes Santa Claus

This has been a wonderful and busy Christmas Season. We are having so much fun and feel blessed to have been invited to so many parties over the last few weeks. It has been so much fun to see our friends and celebrate the season! The kids have also had lots of parties and we have seen Santa numerous times now! Neither child is particularly fond of Santa up close and personal but we definitely are warming up and love the idea of Santa.

Pneumonia

I am hesitant to take my kids to the doctors, do not believe in medicating them every time their noses run green, do not treat a fever unless its over 102 and they are acting sick or uncomfortable, and I never take them to the doctor unless they are really sick or its been too long.

Poor Hudson... He has had a runny nose off and on for three or four weeks. Like I said before, I haven't done a thing but vigorously sucked out boogers. The congestion would come and go, turn from clear, to yellow, to green, to white, to clear, etc. Because Hudson has "Intermittent Prolonged QT Intervals" he cannot take certain medications that are QT prolongaters. These medicines include benedryl, any antihistamine or decongestant, certian antibiotics (macrolides) and albuterol or xopenex. Suctioning boogers has worked and I haven't been concerned. We went for Hud's 15 month well check two weeks ago and his green nose was back and Dr. N said he was wheezing. He started him on Singulair and Nasonex, both safe for his heart. A week later, Hud is febrile, coughing, wheezing, and breathing fast. Had I not been on call this weekend, I may have waited it out another day but because of that, took Hud into the office. His lungs were crackly and both ears infected. We started an antibiotic, steroids, and breathing treatments and he even got an antibiotic shot. Poor guy! This is the first time he has ever taken medicine! 16 months old and his first time sick. Although he was a little irritable the first day or so, he hasn't slowed down and has been in great spirits and is finally on the mend!

Huddy Buddy

Hudson! Our Buddy is 16 months old! He finally started walking a little before Thanksgiving. He is so laid back, he is never in a hurry to do anything! He is such a good kid, a sweet calm baby who will eat you out of house and home! He nurses three times a day and still eats anything you give him plus whatever his sister doesn't eat. He is finally catching up on the growth chart and is in the 75th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight. He doesn't say much. Shakes his head "no" and points and waves at everything! He points at anything he wants and knows his body parts. He is just such a sweet sweet boy. He loves his dogs and knows the people who love him and goes to them with open arms. He loves his mommy the most. He can also aggravate his sister! He will take something of hers and tease her with it until she finally gets it back. He hardly ever cries and sleeps just like his sister. He is a thumb sucker and sleeps on his tummy. He doesn't have a favorite anything. He loves to open and shut doors but hates locking himself in a room. He is growing and turning into a boy so quickly! He is a climber and wants to do everything his sister does. He doesn't like to get messy and doesn't participate in art at school. He loves music, loves to dance, and loves to watch movies in the car. He is fascinated with babies and loves to play with other kids. He still naps twice a day and always wakes up happy.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Thanksgiving! So much to be Thankful for!

We had a fantastic week at the Gaylord over Thanksgiving. This was our third Thanksgiving there and as the kids grow it just gets better and better! We had so much at the "Christmas hotel", sat on Santa's lap, spent time with family and enjoyed all the activities the hotel had to offer!

We "Elfed Ourselves!"

Went tubing!

Spent Thanksgiving with Mema

After our Thanksgiving Brunch we headed over to Aunt Harriet and Uncle Barry's for another Turkey Dinner!

Aunt Harriet made Hannah her own pumpkin pie!
We watched the Aggies BTHO tu!
Hannah was in rare form! During dinner she announced she needed to poop! I said, "Hannah, what do we say?" Hoping that she would say, "I need to go to the girl's room", however, she said loudly... "Politely need to poop, please!"

Both kids loved on Great Grandma who spoiled them rotten with presents this year!

Aunt Susie came from Austin

Hannah performed for us in her new Hokey Pokey skirt!

We had breakfast with Charlie Brown. Hannah was not a big fan. Better than Disneyland but still no love for characters.

Brother didn't mind so much.

We had cookies and milk with Mrs. Claus
