This Tagged Thing from Facebook...

Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end, choose people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. I tried to tag people from very different parts of my life so there is not too much overlap!

7. I heart pumpkin spice frappachinos from Starbucks and wish they were sold year-round.
8. I love living in Midland and always have.
9. My worst nightmare/biggest fear came true.
10. When I started college, I was a journalism major. I wanted to be news anchor.
11. In 7th grade I used Sun-In on my bangs and they turned orange, my parents tried to have themfixed and all my hair turned black (so black is was purple!), to get the black out they had to use bleach and I spent the rest of 7th and all of 8th grade with orange fried hair.
12. I spend more time on the computer (facebooking and blog stalking) than anything else (besides sleeping).
13. I need an average of 13 hours of sleep a night and would sleep until noon every day if I could. I have also trained my daughter to sleep that much too.
14. I have been in love with my husband since the 7th grade.
15. The only part of the newspaper I read is the Weddings and Engagements.
16. When I was younger I wanted to change my name to Jenna and insisted on my sister and cousins calling me that.

22. I nearly drowned in Cabo a few years ago and my husband saved my life.
23. I am incredibly family oriented and have a strong sense of responsbility to put my family first.
24. I think my birthday is special and that everyone else should too.
25. I have very naturally curley hair. I hate it! And when I was in the fifth grade, my Dad was the one who had it permanently straightened.

Pajama Day x2

Hannah and I have declared the last two days "pajama days!" in our house. Monday we were just lazy, slept til 11:00 and hung out in our PJ's all day long. We did a little closet cleaning out but for the most part laid around before finally taking baths and putting back on our pajamas in time for Daddy to get home.

Today was going to be much more productive until I had woken up, showered and was starting to put my make up on and the news proclaimed that the roads were slippery and several school districts had delayed school starts. After debating with myself on whether or not to risk the icy roads and take Hannah to school, I concluded that I would put my pajamas back on and go back to sleep. Hannah slept until 12!!! What wonderful days!

Welcome Home "W"

Midland welcomed home George and Laura this afternoon and what a welcome it was! Midland is so proud of The Bush's and welcomed him home in style downtown. The Bush family, including Big George and Barbara, Jenna Welch (Laura's Mother), Barbara, George and Laura, along with several other Midlanders, former Secretary of Commerce Don Evans and his wife, Susie, and our Congressman Mike Conaway and his wife Suzanne, all hopped aboard Air Force One after the inauguration and headed straight home to Texas...Midland, Texas.

My dad was invited to sit in the bleachers on stage and he invited me to come with him. I am so appreciative of the opportunity to look out and see over 30,000 Bush supporters welcoming Bush home. The crowd response and W's throughout all of Centennial plaza is something that I will never forget.

Watching Air Force One fly over downtown was an amazing site and one that I will probably never see again. The energy in Midland was memorable and when Mr. Lee Greenwood sang, "I am proud to be an American" I not only thanked God for letting me be able to experience this, but thanked God for letting me be a proud American. I did not bring my good camera, but was still able to capture some great pictures of our wonderful President!

A Historical Day

I am sitting here watching the inauguration and am compelled to write about such a historical day. Just 4 years ago, I had the opportunity to attend President Bush's inauguration. It was amazing! Today I have such mixed emotions as I watched my favorite President leaving the White House with our new President. I am so sad that Bush is done. I love President Bush, not for his policies, but for his character and principles he withheld during the 8 years he spent in Washington. Today we start a new era, on the steps of Capital Hill that slaves built, an African American man will be the leader of our country. Something many thought would never happen. Although I did not vote for Obama, I am amazed and pleased that our country has come so far. On the other hand, I am sad for Bush, having to leave. I am sure it is bittersweet for him as he is probably thrilled to get back to Texas and his good ol' boy roots! This afternoon, Air force 1 will make its final trip to Texas with the Bush gang as Midland gets to welcome their favorite son home! Welcome Home W! We are proud of you!

A New Year and More!

I apologize for getting so behind on blogging! It hasn't been that busy, I just haven't been blogging like I usually do.

We spent a nice quiet New Year's Eve at home asleep! We decided to for-go the parties and instead had a nice dinner at Wall Street as a family and then came home and went to bed around 10:00. It was a wonderful end/beginning of the new year! I spent all day New Year's Day in my pajamas!

Monday I went back to work, after 2 weeks off, it was nice to go to work. This week, I also took cooked and took 3 of my friends dinner. Two had recently had babies (boys!) and one had surgery in December.

Hannah should have gone back to school on Tuesday but instead we went to the doctor for her 12 month well check. Her well check went great and she is in the 90th percentile for height (which surprises me because she looks smaller than most of her classmates!) at 31 inches (I think!) That is 11 inches that she has grown in her first year. She is in the 75th percentile for weight, weighing 22lbs. 2 oz. That is about 15 pounds she gained over the year! She is doing everything she is supposed to being at this age. While she is still not walking on her own, she is getting closer each day. Hannah got her 12 month shots too on Tuesday and her blood drawn. She is still iron deficient anemic and will have to go back on iron for probably another 6 months. It was after 10:00 by the time we got out of there and she was so tired that I just let her come home and sleep. I knew she wouldn't sleep at school, so we both came home and put back on our PJ's and took a nap! It was a nice day! We also found out that Hannah's ears are still infected but saw some improvement with the Clindamycin. We are currently on another 10 days of Clindamycin. Wednesday I went to work and Stuart headed to Houston for some meetings. When I picked Hannah up from Mimi's at 6ish, she was laying in Mimi's lap with a high fever. I gave her some Tylenol and we went home. She was moaning, whining, and did not feel good. She woke up at 2:00am with another high fever and I gave her Tylenol, loved on her, and cooled her off. Turns out she had a reaction to her MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccine. She had to miss school again Thursday because of the fever and acting sick. Poor baby was back to her normal self by Friday morning. Thursday night I hung out at my friend Darby's for her Just Ducky Original kids clothing show. She has a ton of cute outfits and we enjoyed the girl time!

Friday, Hannah and I had lunch with Terri and Thayne at Murray's and then went to the new bounce house place here with our friends Brooke and Cooper, Heidi, Wyatt and Hannah, Mindy, Cutter, and Cady, Terri and Thayne, and Leslee, Peyton and Zach! It was fun to see the older kids run around like crazy and Hannah and Thayne enjoyed toddler town and the big slide. The little kids were far more interested in going through all of our diaper bags than actually playing! Friday night, Stuart and I were in bed before 10 and I just woke up (at noon!). Stu got up at 9:00 with Hannah and was so nice to let me sleep in! Thanks Honey!
