It is official! I am President.

Tuesday night, May 22nd I accepted the gavel and am officially President of the Junior League of Midland. I was asked over a year and half ago to accept this position. I feel so honored, blessed, and humbled to serve this organization.  This is going to be an amazing experience. I am thankful for this opportunity and encouraged by friends and family support. The Board and Leadership Team is filled with amazing talented women that I have a great amount of respect for.

At the Annual Meeting I gave an Incoming President's Speech and introduced my theme for the year.

"Celebrating a Legacy"
Celebrating 65 Years of Service to Midland.
This year we will celebrate our past, present, and future legacy of the Junior League of Midland.

This is an organization I have been privileged to be associated with for the majority of my lifetime. My Mom was a member of this organization and my passion for voluntarism and stewardship is a gift she instilled me. I hope to live out her legacy as I dedicate my passion and dedication to the community and this organization.

I am excited and ready to take on this commitment!

Washington, DC - Junior League

I had a wonderful opportunity to attend the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc.'s 91st Annual Conference in Washington DC this past week. This is my 6th Conference since being slated as President of the Junior League of Midland. I have been to Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, Chicago, Las Vegas, and now DC. The current President will "pass the gavel" on Tuesday and I will officially be President after a year and half of training. These conferences have been a great opportunity to learn, train, and make friends. We had a great time and I am looking forward this year as President!

Some of the West Texas Outgoing Presidents, Incoming Presidents, and Incoming President-Elects took a night monument tour. The DC Insider walking tour was a 3 hour 3 mile walking tour. It was impressive.

Sarah and I at the Mary Harriman (Founder of the Junior League) Award Luncheon. The recipient of this years Mary Harriman Award was Sen. Florence Shapiro who I had the opportunity to meet along with her Mother who happens to be friends of my Grandmother. It is a small world!

We only had a little bit of free time and spent Friday evening touring the monuments in the daylight!

My West Texas Friends. I am so fortunate to have made this group of friends. These girls will be Presidents of their Leagues in 2013 and 2014. We share a pretty special bond and I always love seeing them! This is likely the last time we will all be together.
