Happy Birthday Pops!

Tuesday was Pops' Birthday! Happy Birthday Pops!
And it was school picture day!
Oh how I love being a Mom! I love dressing Hannah up! Here is what she wore for school pictures!

Rigg's Turned One

Hannah playing with her best buddy Thayne

Our friend Rigg's turned one this weekend! This is our first for one of Hannah's friends born this year. We missed most of it because I was on my way back to town but we had fun and enjoyed seeing our friends and their kids. Here are a few pictures of Hannah playing at the party.
Happy First Birthday Riggs!

Dallas!

Hannah on the plane

Hannah by the fountains in Dallas

This weekend I took Hannah to Dallas again to see her Great Grandmother, Aunt Harriet, and Uncle Barry. For the short trip, I opted to fly and give my tires/wheels a break ;) This was the first time for me to fly with Hannah by my self. Hannah did great on the plane. We ate on the plane going and coming home she slept. I miss my Grandmother (she just moved in July to Plano) and I wish she could see Hannah more often. We had a great lunch at Bread Winners and then an awesome dinner that night at Uncle Barry's. My uncle is the BEST cook! I even got in a little shopping for Hannah. It was a quick but fun trip and Aunt Harriet took some really cute pictures of Hannah that I need to post (when I have time!).

Lone Star Concert, Lunch, and Homecoming!

Since I am way behind on posting (I have been so busy I haven't even checked McMama's blog), I thought I would start back with the Lone Start concert. Chase Bank had invited Dennis and Lynn to the concert last Thursday night. Dennis and Lynn invited us and we had a great time. I had no idea I knew every song that they played. We had a fajita dinner and then went down to the field for the concert. It was kind of cool but a nice evening outside at the Ball Park. The best part about it was that we were sitting on a table, on the field, right in front of the stage. Lone Star was up close and personal! DOWDCO also bid and won a guitar signed by the members of Lone Star in the auction. It was so much fun. Kristan kept Hannah and we had a great night out with the adults... I did not bring my camera :(

Friday I had lunch at Harvest Cafe with Sommer, her daughter Kaitlyn who is about a month older than Hannah, Allison, Wynn, Jordan, and Brooke and her son Cooper who is 2 months. I had a really great time and just love these really fun girls!

Friday night, Stuart and I took Hannah to Midland High's Homecoming. MHS won again and the weather was fantastic! Hannah wore her precious purple and gold tutu! We had fun and saw lots of people we knew.

Fours

Four, Four, Four......
Not to let Vicki down.... I had to play too!
A) Four places that I go to over and over: HEB, Pedi Med Center, My Dad's, Sonic

B)Four people who e-mail me (regularly): Lynn, Autumn, Susie, Stuart

C) Four of my favorite places to eat: Dos Compadres, PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory, Luigi's

D) Four places I would rather be right now: in bed, Hawaii, Las Vegas, getting a massage (I cannot argue with Janai here!)

E) Four people I think or who I'd like to respond: Since my favorite stalkers have already joined in, that means Elicia, Emily, Darby (you have to do it now!) and Susie need to play!

F) Four TV shows I watch: (only four?) Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210, Greys Anatomy

Catching Up!

Since I just wasn't in the mood for blogging on Monday and then Tuesday is my longest day ever! I thought I would play catch up today! Lets start with the weekend...

Friday - One of the practitioners in the clinic I work in was sick so I was able to get my sweet babysitter to come over so I could work the afternoon. I took her home, switched her out with her sister who would babysit that evening and came home. Hannah who had had a runny nose for the past week was running a temperature of 102. I took off her clothes, fed her dinner, and bathed her and didn't check it again before leaving the house. I told Kristan to call me if Hannah acted like she felt bad. Stuart went on his much anticipated Yeager Dove Hunt in Balmorhea and so it was just the girls weekend! To celebrate, we went to Heidi's for a wine party! It was a lot of fun and Heather's cakeballs were delicious! We had a great time and need to do it more often. I got home pretty early and had to wake Hannah up so I could take Kristan home. Hannah was really sweaty, so I guess her fever broke on its own. Hannah went right back to sleep in her crib when we got home and I stayed up watching Hurricane Ike hit my former home in Galveston. I guess natural disasters intrigue me, but this one a lot more considering 3 years ago I lived right on the seawall in Galveston while attending UT Medical Branch. While I lived there (for 2 years) we never had even a tropical Storm scare, but so many times I wondered what I would do if a hurricane ever threatened Galveston. Probably, prior to even a recommended evacuation, I would have Phoebe (this was prior to Daisy days), my CHI iron, and my computer, and be over that cause-way on my way to safer territory like West Texas. Even last fall when Stuart and I were living in the Woodlands I was well prepared to be back in Midland in a heartbeat! Anyways, I watched late into the night as my friends' and family (my uncle lives in Clear lake) battled hurricane Ike. I have seen some devastating pictures taken my E1 persons who stayed at the hospital and if I have time, may post some. Basically it was like a horror movie where you see water start seeping down the strand from the surge! No wonder Galveston in inhabitable. Anyways, besides my friends with power outages in the Houston area everyone did okay.

Saturday Hannah and I laid around and did some shopping. Gymboree is having a huge baby sale with everything $10 or $20 dollars. We got some cute 12-18 months clothing for winter! Saturday night I made cakeballs and Hannah would not go to sleep! She ended up staying up til 1am! I think her ears were hurting her. I did check her ears on Saturday and they were slight red with a good light reflex (if the light reflex is absent that means that there is fluid behind the tympanic membrane). I have heard/read some where that over half of ear infections (that I normally treat!) are viral. I think this was viral because she seems to be doing fine now. See other Moms... every time your child runs fever or cannot sleep you do not have to rush them into the doctors office... Give it a few days and see if their immune system can fight it off first! hehehehe...

Anyways, Daddy made it home Sunday in time for lunch and had a great dove hunt. The weather was beautiful as it has been all week here.

While I am typing, Hannah is destroying my office! So, until next time, enjoy the cute pictures of Hannah before school last week!

Not in the mood

Hannah and Daisy sharing a biter biscuit (gross I know!)

Because I am not in the blogging mood today (Seriously? Maybe its because I ate too many cake balls, whatever!) I thought I would post a picture for my faithful blog stalkers who have already checked my blog several times today waiting for an update....

Crawling Crawling Crawling!

Less than 48 hours after Hannah began crawling, my life changed. She can crawl to the dog food bowls from the living room before I can hit pause on the TIVO. It is like she just took off! Here is a new video of her tonight crawling to the dog food again (for the 30th time in a row!)... Sorry about the quality and the dogs (watch as they move away from her quickly!).

Cake Balls

After a few months of craving cake balls and Allison not updating her blog often, I finally decided to make some! Allison brings them to our 201 Girls Weekend and recently posted the recipe on her blog. Mine may not have turned out super pretty but man were the delicious!!! I am bringing them for dessert this Sunday night but if you want to try and make some for yourself... Click here for the recipe for Allison's Famous Cake Balls.

Mother's Day Out

Thursday was Hannah's first day of Mother's Day Out. Last February I got up at 5am to get her enrolled, this MDO thing is serious! I love the program, love her teachers, and love her class. We brought all of our labeled and monogrammed stuff and they have their own cubbies and even cabinets in the kitchen so we can leave stuff there. There were about 4 kids already there when we dropped off her. Hannah immediately sat down and started putting toys in her mouth. (The PNP in me is freaking out because some other kid will have that toy in their mouth a little later and that's how germs spread!) All of the other kids starting screaming and crying when their parents left but Hannah just sat there playing. Then our friends MK and Lilly got there! Hannah never cried. When Lynn picked her up they said she was a little bit fussy in the morning and only took a 3o minute nap. She also slept for 2 1/2 hours when she got to Mimi's. So far, we are off to a great start and really looking forward to the year!

MHS vs Lee

Friday night was the big Midland High vs Lee High (cross town rivals!) game and Midland High pulled out a 4th quarter win! Go Dawgs!!! We went to the game and brought Hannah and had a great time! Hannah seems to enjoy the games, being outside, and all the cheering!

Hannah's Friends

Meet the Teacher

Yesterday we went to meet Hannah's new teachers. Ms. Donna and Ms. Kristine seem like they will be great! Hannah also already has several friends in her class! She is really excited to play with Mary Kate and Lillian tomorrow. The room has lots of toys and lots of room for Hannah to crawl around. They also will be doing music, stories, a bible verse, and lots more. Next semester they will even do science. Hannah will go to Mother's Day Out from 9 to 2 two days a week. I think it is going to be great for her and she will enjoy playing with other kids, learning, learning to share and take turns, and just being away from Mommy for a while. This program is wonderful and I have only heard really positive things about it. A lot of my friends take their children there and several of my friends have taught there. Because everything has to have Hannah's name on it, I went a little crazy (See the picture of the bibs, diaper changing pad, and burp cloths I ordered).

Crawling

While most of you assumed Hannah was crawling already, she really hasn't been until today. She has been scooting, pulling herself up, etc. and she gets to a sitting position on her own. But today... She really started crawling! Check out the video on my cell! It isn't much but I will make more!
