Huddy's 18 month well check

Hudson had his 18 month well check a couple of weeks ago. He will be 20 months old on Friday! I can't believe it! He is starting to look (and act) like such a little boy! Our appointment went really well! Hudson has had a huge growth spurt! He weighs 30lbs and is 33 inches tall (I think). He is 2 lbs lighter than his sister! He is thick and solid! It has been noticeable to me but I really got to see it on his growth chart. He is now in the 90th percentiles. We have gone from the 25th to 90th! We stopped nursing when he turned 18 months and he has just continued to grow, grow, grow! He is wearing anywhere from 18month to 2T clothes and looks so handsome in his summer shorts and polos. He language skills and vocabulary continues to grow. His new word this weekend was "Pops". He LOVES to be outside! He eats anything and everything, is extremely well behaved. Loves his sister. Loves his Mommy and Daddy, Granddad and Mimi and Pops and loves his teachers and nursery ladies. He is so laid back, sleeps 14 to 15 hours a night and loves his dogs. We are on the downhill slope until our little Huddy is 2 years old!

We got a great report on Hudson! Dr. N was really pleased with his growth spurt and language progression. If you remember from birth, he had a slow heart rate, a prolonged QT wave, some low muscle tone and then this asthma like stuff lately, Dr. N believes that Hud has transient hypotonia of the newborn that his is growing out of and will be grown out of by about age three. He did say that this may make potty training a bit more difficult, ugghhhh!!!! Anyways, this was good to find out as we have done lots of test over the last 18 months and all have come back negative. Dr. N believes that the hypotonia (low muscle tone) is what caused his heart to show the slow heart rates, his lungs to be more immature causing him to desaturate after birth and need to be on oxygen and then his frequent episodes of pneumonia and wheezing this season. We are thankful and beyond blessed to have a healthy boy and very pleased to see the progress he has made.

What Mother, especially one who works in the office, would let her child lay on the floor of the pediatricians office???? Gross!!!
