Snow Day

As I predicted, MISD had a delayed start which canceled CDO. Oh how disappointing to a Mommy who only has 3 days of CDO left December to get all her Christmas shopping/appointments done. Anticipating this, I grabbed this Gingerbread House Kit at HEB Monday and a couple extra boxes of candy and we got to assembling and decorating. It didn't take the kids too long to use/eat all of the candy and we were left with a whole day ahead of us. We got dressed and headed to Academy where they have 3 employees. Yes, there were literally like 3 employees there working, during Christmas season!!! We stood in line 45 minutes and tore every single watch off the display near the Returns/Customer Service line. They may need to hire more employees to clean up the H and H tornado! Just kidding, we had plenty of time to put them all back while waiting too. After Academy I took the kids to see the Muppet's. I thought they would be so captivated by the movie they would sit in their chairs, quietly munch on their $10 kids pack (without a drink because I didn't want to have to take Hannah potty twelve times).... Nope, thankfully we were the only people in the movie because my kids ran up and down the steps and aisle the entire hour and forty minutes, spilled both of their $10 kiddie boxes of popcorn an empty cup, and fruit snacks, cried hysterically when they crashed into each other running down the slanted aisle, and basically only watched the 30 minutes of age inappropriate previews. The Muppet's movie is about the 80's Muppet Show making a comeback. My kids were obviously not entertained. They do however like the Chipmunks who have a new movie coming out next week called "Chip Wrecked" but do they like them enough to sit in their seats for an entire movie? Maybe I should try to catch a movie I would enjoy after its been there a while and I am the only one in the theatre and I can bring my own popcorn and fruit snacks and let the kids run up and down the aisle for an hour and half or so?
