Accident

I won't tell you how this accident happened, because I would hate to embarrass my husband... but it had something to do with the recliner in the living room, our tile floor, and a goose egg. Do I need to quit going to Junior League on Tuesdays?

Fiddlesticks Farm

Today we took Hannah out to Fiddlesticks Farm for some great picture opportunities. They have live animals, good, a pumpkin cannon, a corn maze, hay rides, a big slide, and a tractor ride. It was really windy and Stuart was in a bad mood so we didn't stay long enough to do anything. He promised we could go back next week when the weather was nice. We didn't even get any good pictures :( So here is what I got and I will get more next week hopefully in our new pumpkin tutu!

Meeting Emma

Last night we attended at wedding shower our friends Robert and Christi. Our friend's Rusty and Michelle were in town for the festivities and Hannah was able to meet Emma who was born on the same day as she was.

Limo to the hotel

Last weekend we went to Vegas and took Hannah with us. Mimi and Pops were so nice to let us bring a nanny to watch Hannah so we could enjoy it. It worked out so well! We flew in on Friday and after exploring the Wynn, we left Hannah with Kelli up in our suite and went to dinner at the Country Club and then to the casino. Saturday, Mimi treated us to a spa day! It was just decadent! We had massages, body scrubs, and facials. That afternoon we did a little shopping at the Venetian and then left Hannah with Kelli again for dinner at the SW Steakhouse. Sunday we ate at the Wynn buffet which was delicious and then spent the afternoon at Fashion Show Mall. Sunday night we had tickets to see Cher but as we were getting ready and heading down to go, we found out that she had canceled her show :( so, instead we were able to see Le Reve at the Wynn which was fabulous and a lot like O. After the show we had a wonderful dinner at Okada which was a great Japanese steak house. Monday we headed back to Midland :( We had a wonderful and much needed vacation and Hannah was a great traveler!

Hannah's 9 month well check and first tooth

Hannah had her 9 month well check yesterday! Even though she was still she was feeling better and we got a good report on her ears. Hannah has slimmed down a little and dropped from the 95th to the 75th percentile for weight. She weights 19 lbs 1 oz. I can attribute this to cutting back on nursing over the past 3 months and her recent increase in activity (crawling). We are still in the 75th percentile for height at almost 28 inches. At 9 months we are clapping, playing patty cake, and waving and saying bye bye. The changes that she has been exhibiting over the past few weeks are amazing as we are now on our way to 1 year. She is pulling up on things and interested in everything. Our biggest news is our first tooth!!!! Finally! I guess I just missed this tooth coming in since she was sick this week. I did notice her drooling a lot and figured it was probably do to a sore throat, but... when the doctor looked yesterday, there it was 1 pretty little tooth! And, one on the way right next door! Yay! I was afraid Hannah would be 1 without any teeth. I cannot believe I didn't know this tooth was there or much less my child was teething, but there you have it, a first tooth. At our well check, Hannah and I also got our flu shots. We start giving kiddos flu shots at 6 months of age. They actually get 2 their first time 6 weeks apart. I am a baby about flu shots but since I am overly exposed every year, I always get it. I usually feel bad too the first 24 hours that I get it, but not this time. A little sore arm, but I have felt just fine. Hannah seems to have tolerated it well too. She has been awfully fussy today but I think its that other tooth trying to come in.

Yesterday we also tried out our new Nanny. I am having a Nanny/Mommy's helper come one day a week to help me out a little bit. She did great with Hannah and I am really looking forward to this help. Susie is still in town and we had a great lunch (sans highchairs) at Yana's in Odessa, went to Target, Sonic, RSVP to see Darby, over to Le Bebe' then to the Boutique to try on some Uggs. I can't decide on those, but whole other blog... It was really nice to be able to run some errands without having to wake Hannah up to get her out of her carseat or not letting her get a good nap. She is also getting really heavy to hold in stores. So, not much going on this weekend. We are going to another wedding shower this evening while Hannah stays at home with Kristan. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to add some new pictures and blog about our fabulous trip to Vegas!

Sick Baby

I promise to write about our Vegas trip as soon as I have time and as soon as I have caught up on my TV shows ;) But until then...

Last week I had a little virus, I lost my voice but didn't feel all that bad. Hannah had a little productive or wet cough but I never treated it with anything. We went on our trip and got back Monday. Tuesday morning I woke Hannah up for school. She nursed for a really long time and when I went to change her and get her dressed she cried and cried and cried. I took her to school and she normally lets me just sit her on the ground with the toys but instead, she arched her back and cried. So one of the teachers took her and she seemed fine. About 11ish, the school called me to tell me that Hannah had a fever and had been really quiet. I asked how high her fever was they said 100.7 (which I don't consider high, but still a fever). I had Stuart go get her and bring her up to the office to me. Teri took a look at her and she had an ear infection. Hannah was definitely not herself either, she was really quiet and just laid there on me. Since it was lunch time, I took her home and my sister who is in town came over to watch her the rest of the afternoon. She slept for 4 hours! I had a really long day yesterday with work and Junior League so I had Stuart pick up her antibiotics and pick her up from Susie. Susie said that she was acting pretty sick. Stuart picked her up and took her to dinner where she probably felt so terrible she couldn't eat. When he got her home, he took her temperature rectally and it was 104.7. Like such a good Daddy, he gave her a cool bath and brought it down to 103.5. He also tried to give her her antibiotic. He first tried to give the prescribe 1/2 tsp through a straw which didn't work, so he put a table spoon of it in her milk! Luckily she only took half her bottle. Then he couldn't find the Tylenol, so at 10:00 at night (yes, I was still at Junior League) he put her pajamas on and put her in the car to come and find me. I got home before they did and when he got her home to me she was pale and looked so sick :( I gave her some Tylenol, loved on her, took her pajamas off (to cool her down) and finally put her to bed. She slept until about 5 or 6 this morning. I got up with her, gave her Tylenol for her fever (now 102.8) and put her in my bed, she was so restless, moving all around, kicking, and grabbing, so I took her back to her bed. She slept until about 10:45 when I woke her up and nursed her. Because she has such a bad diaper rash and Augmentin can upset the stomach, I went ahead and took her back to the clinic this morning to get an antibiotic shot. She has still been running a temperature over 103 and she is just miserable. She whines and moans til she falls asleep. Poor baby! Thankfully, this is the first time she has ever been sick (at 9 months) and I know that this will not be the last, especially since she goes to Mothers Day Out.
